This just worked for me. I thought the old monitor driver as it had dpms it should be good. In lofmein past, the recommended solution of uninstalling the monitor, then scanning for hardware changes, logging out, logging back in and installing the dpms worked. For security reasons, I cannot have my screen being viewed locally.

Also I uninstalled the monitor drivers while I was controlling the computer via Logmein, so for those of you like me, don’t worry it won’t kill your session.

When you’ve removed all the monitors, right click on your computer at the top of the Device Manager screen and choose Scan for hardware changes. This time, I unstall tried over and over and it still will not install the dpms even though in my device manager pogmein says dpms behind my monitor list.

Go ahead and close the Computer Managment window. I was left on hold for at least 10 minutes and I had to hang up.

Just to expand a bit, I had my monitor which was dpms enabled and was working fine for the past 2 years. This is a big problem!! Just to add to comments above Go to Device Manager. Somewhere else someone posted epms solution that works for me: Then scan for new hardware. Hi This is a great fix.
